Safe LinkedIn automation
Vaam's Safe tempo starts new and returning accounts at up to 5 connection requests a day, with additional caps of 2 per hour and 25 per week. This is a Vaam setting designed to reduce risk, not a LinkedIn-published limit, and it does not guarantee your account avoids a warning or restriction.
The direct answer: start on Vaam's Safe tempo. It caps connection requests at up to 5 per day, 2 per hour, and 25 per week. These are conservative settings Vaam applies on your behalf. They are not a limit LinkedIn publishes, and not a guarantee that your account avoids a warning or a restriction.
Why start on Safe
LinkedIn watches for sudden changes in behavior. An account that goes from occasional use to dozens of connection requests and messages a day sends a spike in activity. That kind of spike gets flagged for review. The Safe tempo keeps daily activity low enough that a new or recently quiet account has time to look normal again before volume increases.
The four tempos
Vaam offers four tempos for connection requests and messages:
- Safe — up to 5 connection requests per day, 2 per hour, and 25 per week. Available on every plan.
- Standard, Aggressive, and Custom — higher-volume tempos that require LinkedIn Premium. Without Premium, your account stays on Safe regardless of which tempo you select.
Set your tempo under Settings → LinkedIn Settings → Tempo in the Vaam dashboard.
Ramping up
Vaam's own guidance is to increase tempo over weeks, not days, even once Premium unlocks the higher tiers. A common pattern is a couple of weeks on Safe before moving to Standard. Keep your active hours realistic — set to match when you'd actually be online — throughout.
If LinkedIn pushes back
A warning and a temporary ban call for different responses:
- Warning — switch back to Safe immediately, review your active hours, and stay on Safe for at least two weeks before increasing tempo again.
- Temporary ban — pause every LinkedIn sequence, wait five business days with no automated activity at all, then resume on Safe, hold it for two weeks, and only then start scaling up.
Moving straight back to high volume after a ban raises the odds of a longer or repeated restriction.
How this connects to the active prospect limit
Separately from tempo, Vaam caps the number of prospects that can be actively running through a LinkedIn-containing sequence at once — 400 by default. This cap limits how many prospects can be active at once; it does not guarantee that LinkedIn won't flag your account. Only sequences with a LinkedIn step count toward it; a pure email sequence does not.
When Vaam pauses or queues your outreach
Vaam can hold back a step instead of sending it right away. This happens when your tempo limit is reached, outside your active hours, when the active-prospect cap is full, or after LinkedIn sends a warning. Vaam shows the reason in the sequence or task list, so you can see why a step is queued or paused instead of guessing.
Is LinkedIn automation illegal?
Vaam cannot give legal advice, and nothing here should be read as legal advice. Legality depends on the applicable laws where you and your prospects are located. It also depends on the specifics of your workflow. Vaam cannot assess that for you. Separately from any question of law, LinkedIn can warn or restrict an account under its own User Agreement, at LinkedIn's discretion. Check LinkedIn's current rules and the outreach laws that apply to you before you decide what to run.
Vaam does not claim that using Vaam makes your LinkedIn activity compliant with LinkedIn's terms. It also does not claim that any tempo — including Safe — makes your account safe from a warning or restriction. What Safe does is keep your account's connection requests inside conservative Vaam-set limits: up to 5 per day, 2 per hour, and 25 per week. Those numbers reduce risk; they do not remove it. They are not a substitute for reading LinkedIn's own terms and deciding what you're comfortable running on your account.
Frequently asked questions
How many LinkedIn connection requests per day is safe?
Vaam's Safe tempo allows up to 5 connection requests per day, with additional caps of 2 per hour and 25 per week. These are Vaam-set limits, not numbers LinkedIn publishes.
What exactly does the Safe tempo limit?
Safe caps connection requests at up to 5 per day, 2 per hour, and 25 per week. These are Vaam settings applied to your account's outreach, not numbers published by LinkedIn.
Do I need LinkedIn Premium to use Safe?
No. Safe is the default tempo and works without LinkedIn Premium. The Standard, Aggressive, and Custom tempos require LinkedIn Premium — without it, your account stays on Safe.
What should I do if LinkedIn sends a warning?
Set your tempo back to Safe immediately, check that your active hours look like real working hours, and stay on Safe for at least two weeks before considering a higher tempo again.
What if my account gets a temporary ban?
Pause all LinkedIn sequences right away, wait five business days without running any automated activity, then resume on Safe and stay there for two weeks before scaling up gradually.
