Vaam

LinkedIn automation + Salesforce

Vaam's Salesforce integration receives video engagement only: when someone opens, watches, or converts on a Vaam video, that's logged as an Event on the matching Salesforce lead. It does not sync LinkedIn connection requests, LinkedIn messages, or sequence emails — for full sequence activity in your CRM, see the HubSpot integration instead.

Set expectations first: Vaam's Salesforce integration is a video-activity feed, not a sequence-activity sync. It reports three events — open, view, and conversion — as they happen on a Vaam video, and nothing else from a LinkedIn automation sequence.

Connecting

  1. Open Settings → Integrations at app.vaam.io and click Add integration.
  2. Choose Salesforce, sign in, and approve the access Vaam requests.

The connection is team-scoped: one Salesforce org connects to one Vaam team, and everyone on the team uses that same connection.

What Vaam writes

Three video events, each written as a Salesforce Event record on a lead, with a link back to the video:

  • Open — the video link was opened.
  • View — the video was watched.
  • Conversion — the viewer completed the video's call to action.

Vaam matches the viewer to a lead by searching Salesforce for their email address. A single match gets the event. Multiple matches all get the event because Vaam does not guess which duplicate is correct. No match creates a new lead. The lead contains only what the email address itself reveals: first name, last name, and email. It also contains the email's domain as a placeholder company name. Expect to enrich a lead created this way yourself. Writes happen as engagement occurs. There is no schedule and no manual sync button.

What Vaam does not sync to Salesforce

This is the part to plan around before you rely on the integration:

  • No sequence steps. LinkedIn connection requests, LinkedIn messages, and sequence emails are never written to Salesforce as activity. If you need that visibility in your CRM, use HubSpot instead.
  • No two-way prospect sync. Vaam does not import Salesforce leads or contacts. Add prospects to Vaam from LinkedIn or a CSV.
  • No prospect-blocking rules. The owner and lifecycle-stage rules available on the HubSpot integration don't exist for Salesforce.

Troubleshooting

If Salesforce rejects Vaam's access — the app is revoked, or the connected user loses access — Vaam disconnects automatically; reconnect from Settings → Integrations. If a lead shows no activity, check three things: that the integration is still connected, that the viewer's email is known to Vaam (an anonymous viewer can't be matched), and that you're looking at a video event. Sequence steps were never written there in the first place.

Disconnecting removes nothing from Salesforce — Vaam simply stops writing new events.

Frequently asked questions

Does Salesforce see my LinkedIn connection requests and messages?

No. Salesforce receives only video engagement — open, view, and conversion events. LinkedIn invitations, LinkedIn messages, and sequence emails are not written to Salesforce.

How does Vaam find the right Salesforce lead?

By searching Salesforce for the viewer's email address. One match writes the event to that lead; several matches write the event to each of them; no match creates a new lead from what Vaam can derive from the email address alone.

Does Vaam import my Salesforce leads?

No. Prospects are not synced both ways — Vaam does not pull your Salesforce leads or contacts into Vaam. Add prospects to Vaam from LinkedIn or a CSV instead.

What if I need LinkedIn and email sequence steps logged in my CRM?

Use the HubSpot integration for LinkedIn and email sequence logging. Vaam's Upsales integration logs LinkedIn invitations and video activity, not email. Salesforce, in Vaam's current integration, is video-activity only.
