Vaam vs Expandi
You are probably here because LinkedIn already works for you, and the question is how much of the job around it the tool should do. Expandi goes deep on LinkedIn and hands email to a separate tool. It runs connection requests, messages, InMails, group messages and event invites from its own infrastructure, with a dedicated country-based IP address per account, against the lead lists you build from LinkedIn searches. Our agents build that list themselves, and LinkedIn, email and video then run as one sequence. So the split is where the work starts and how many channels you want in one place. We sell Vaam and we run our own outreach on it. Expandi is the better tool for several jobs, and this page says which.
Short answer
Pick Vaam if you want the tool to build the list as well as run it. Our agents source prospects from LinkedIn posts and people searches, enrich every profile and judge it against the audience you defined before anyone is contacted, then run LinkedIn, email and per-prospect video steps in one sequence, with native CRM sync and customer data stored in the EU. Expandi executes the lists you assemble. It can re-run a saved search on a schedule and add the new leads to a campaign, but the only filter is the search itself, and there is no separate audience check. Pick Expandi if LinkedIn is the whole motion and you want the widest set of LinkedIn campaign types, a dedicated country-based IP included in the price, or a white-label plan for an agency. Both tools take account safety seriously and both throttle activity. Neither can promise LinkedIn will never restrict an account.
Pick Vaam if
- You want the tool to find and qualify prospects continuously, not just execute a list you built somewhere else.
- You want AI doing the sourcing and the sending, and a person on every reply.
- You want LinkedIn, email and video in one sequence rather than one product per channel.
- You want video personalized per prospect included in the plan, not bought as a separate subscription.
- You need email steps for prospects whose address is not public on LinkedIn, because we find the address for you.
- You want native CRM sync for contacts, activities and blocklists, and customer data stored inside the EU.
Pick Expandi if
- LinkedIn is the only channel you care about and you already run email somewhere else.
- You build your own lead lists from LinkedIn searches and want the tool to execute them, not to decide who is worth contacting.
- You want LinkedIn campaign types we do not publish, such as group messages, event invites, company follow invites and inbound campaigns for profile viewers.
- You want a dedicated country-based IP address and automatic profile warm-up per account, included in the price.
- You are an agency that needs white-label, roles and permissions, and centralized campaign management across 10+ seats. Vaam has none of that.
- You want seat pricing that gets cheaper the more seats you add, rather than a flat per-user price.

Feature comparison
Where Vaam and Expandi overlap, and where they do not.
| Feature | Vaam | Expandi |
|---|---|---|
| Agent-sourced prospecting The tool finds and qualifies new prospects itself, instead of only running a list you built elsewhere. | Yes Agents source from LinkedIn posts and people searches, enrich each profile, and check it against the audience you defined before enrollment. With no audience configured, they run without that check. | Partial A lead list built from a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search can auto-reload on a chosen frequency, and new results can be assigned to the campaign automatically. The only qualification is the search filters themselves. Expandi documents no separate audience or ICP check before outreach, and its docs note that a reload often returns no new leads because LinkedIn caps how many results a search shows. |
| Autonomous sequence execution Sourced prospects enter a multi-step sequence and every step sends on schedule without a person triggering it. | Yes LinkedIn, email and per-prospect video steps send automatically, with randomized human-like pacing and a 400 active-prospect cap on LinkedIn sequences. | Yes Campaign steps run automatically once leads are assigned, within the limit ranges and working hours you set. |
| Human control points Named places where a person can approve or halt the automation, such as approving prospects before outreach and replies that stop the sequence. | Yes Require approval holds each prospect for your decision, and a prospect's reply pauses the sequence and becomes a task for the seller. | Yes Auto-assign can be left off so new search results wait for you to assign them by hand, and Expandi pauses the campaign for a lead who replies. |
| LinkedIn automation Connection requests and message steps run automatically. | Yes Included. | Yes The core of the product; included in the Business price. |
| LinkedIn action types beyond connect and message Open InMail, group messages, event invites, follows, likes and endorsements. | Partial Documented sequence steps are connection requests, LinkedIn messages, profile visits and InMail; Vaam publishes no group, event-invite or company-follow campaign. | Yes Documented campaign types include open and paid InMail, group message, event invite, company follow invite, mobile connector and inbound; the builder adds profile visits, follows, likes and endorsements. |
| Email steps in the same sequence | Yes Email sequences send from your own Gmail or Microsoft 365 inbox. | Partial The builder has an Email action, but you must first connect your own mailbox by SMTP and IMAP, and the lead needs an address Expandi already has. Expandi's docs describe exporting leads to Smartlead, a separate product, for email outreach. |
| Finds email addresses for you | Yes Up to 400 email enrichments / month. | No Expandi's documentation states an email step needs the lead's public email address on LinkedIn or an address imported by CSV; it documents no email finder. |
| Video in outreach | Yes Recording and sending are built in and included in the plan. | Partial Listed on the pricing page as "Video personalization — available integration with Sendspark, paid add-on"; the help centre says you must create a Sendspark account first. |
| Video personalized per prospect | Yes Up to 400 AI-personalized videos / month. | Partial Possible, but generated by Sendspark rather than Expandi, as a paid add-on with its own subscription; the lead must have a first name in Expandi or no video is sent. |
| AI message personalization | Yes AI personalization is included in the plan. | Partial AI hyper-personalization is documented as beta access; image and GIF personalization costs extra. |
| Native CRM sync | Yes HubSpot, Pipedrive and Upsales, included in the plan; syncs contacts, activities and blocklists. | Yes HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce; the docs describe sending contacts and interaction data into the CRM. |
| Dedicated IP or proxy per account | Partial Managed proxy routing is included and needs no setup; an account-specific proxy is an optional paid add-on. | Yes A dedicated country-based IP address is listed in the Business plan. |
| Activity limits and warm-up controls | Yes Safe and Standard tempo presets, schedules and activity limits, with documented ramp-up guidance. | Yes Profile auto warm-up and limit ranges per action, which Expandi states it will not let you exceed. |
| White label for agencies | No Vaam publishes no white-label or reseller option. | Yes On the Agency plan (10+ seats), quoted on request. |
| EU data residency | Yes All customer data is stored within the European Union. | Not documented The privacy policy does not state where the servers are. It says that because Expandi uses third-party providers in several countries outside the European Union, it may transfer collected data to those countries for further processing, with safeguards in place. The company is registered in the Netherlands. |

Pros and cons
Vaam
A sales outreach automation platform whose agents find prospects on LinkedIn, check them against your audience and enroll the matches into a sequence of LinkedIn, email and per-prospect video steps.
Best for Agent-sourced LinkedIn, email and video outreach with a human on the repliesPros
- The agents find and qualify prospects on their own. They source from LinkedIn posts and people searches, enrich every profile, and check it against the audience you defined before anyone gets contacted. If you configure no audience, they run without the matching step.
- Sourcing, qualification and outreach sit in one product, so there is no export and re-import between building a list and running it.
- You choose how much rope to give the agent. Turn on Require approval to vet every prospect yourself, or leave it off and let the agent enroll the matches.
- LinkedIn, email and video run inside one sequence instead of across three products.
- Video is personalized per prospect and comes with the plan, not as a second subscription.
- Email steps work even when the prospect's address is not on their LinkedIn profile, because Vaam finds addresses itself.
- Email sends from your own Gmail or Microsoft 365 inbox, so there is no separate sending domain to warm up.
- Managed proxy routing, tempo presets, schedules and activity limits are part of the product and need no setup.
- Native two-way CRM sync for contacts, activities and blocklists.
- Customer data stays inside the European Union.
- A 14-day trial with no credit card, twice the length of Expandi's.
Cons
- Our agents source from LinkedIn only. There is no website-visitor, job-change or CRM-signal agent, and Sales Navigator search URLs do not work.
- Fewer LinkedIn action types than Expandi. We have no group message, event invite or company follow campaign.
- The account-specific proxy is a paid add-on. Only standard managed proxy routing is included.
- No white-label or reseller option for agencies, and no multi-account agency workspace.
- We price per user, so a team of five costs five times a single seat.
Expandi
A LinkedIn automation platform with a large catalogue of campaign types, a dedicated country-based IP per account, and a white-label plan for agencies.
Best for Depth on LinkedIn, with a dedicated IP per accountPros
- The widest set of LinkedIn campaign types in this comparison, covering connector, messenger, builder, open and paid InMail, group, event invite, mobile connector, inbound and company follow invite.
- A dedicated country-based IP address and automatic profile warm-up are part of the Business price.
- Expandi enforces the limit ranges and states it will not let you exceed the limits you set.
- Seat pricing that gets cheaper as you add seats, which suits agencies running many LinkedIn accounts.
- The Agency plan adds white label, roles and permissions and centralized campaign management.
- Native HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce integrations, plus webhooks and an API.
Cons
- Email steps need your own mailbox connected by SMTP and IMAP, and the prospect's address must already be public on LinkedIn or imported by CSV.
- Expandi's own docs route email campaigns to Smartlead, a separate product with its own subscription.
- Video personalization is a paid add-on that runs through Sendspark and needs a separate Sendspark account.
- Image and GIF personalization costs extra on top of the subscription.
- AI hyper-personalization is documented as beta access.
- The privacy policy does not say where data is stored and states data may be transferred outside the European Union.
- The free trial is 7 days, half the length of Vaam's.
Frequently asked questions
Does Vaam work on its own?
Partly, and that is on purpose. The agents run without you. They watch LinkedIn posts and people searches on a schedule, enrich every profile they find, check it against your audience, and add the matches to a sequence that then sends its LinkedIn, email and video steps by itself. What we do not automate is the conversation. When a prospect answers, the sequence pauses and the reply becomes a task for you, with an AI summary and, where the AI judges that the reply needs a person, a suggested response you can copy. You can also switch on Require approval, which holds every prospect for your decision before any outreach starts. Vaam runs the outbound work, and you take the conversations.
What do Vaam agents do that Expandi doesn't?
Expandi executes a list you have already built. You run a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search, save it as a lead list, and assign it to a campaign. It can re-run that search on a schedule and add new results automatically, but the only filter is the search itself. Our agents do the step before that. An agent watches a LinkedIn people search, a company page's posts or one person's posts, opens each new profile to load their company, role, industry and size, and judges them against the audience you defined, meaning job titles, geography, company size, industries and exclusions, before anyone enters a sequence. With no audience configured, the agent runs without that check. Prospects the check rejects are listed with the reason, and you can overrule the decision. In practice you get a steady flow of qualified people instead of a campaign that goes quiet when the list runs out.
Is LinkedIn automation illegal, and will I get banned?
It is not a legal question. It is an account question. LinkedIn's systems look for unusual activity, and the real risk is a warning or a temporary restriction rather than anything unlawful. No vendor can promise it will not happen. Our own documentation says no proxy or automation service can guarantee that a third-party platform will never restrict an account. Both tools lower the risk the same way: conservative daily limits, a gradual ramp-up, active hours that match how you really work, and a stable network location. We ship tempo presets and managed proxy routing. Expandi ships profile auto warm-up, enforced limit ranges and a dedicated country-based IP.
How many LinkedIn connection requests per day is safe?
Neither vendor publishes one safe number, and be suspicious of any tool that advertises a fixed high number per day. It depends on the age of the account, how active it already is and whether you have Premium. We recommend that new or quiet accounts start on the Safe tempo, run there for about two weeks, and only then move up to Standard. Expandi lets you set a limit range per action and states it will not let you exceed it; its Mobile Connector campaign is documented as adding 50 to 100 extra connection requests per week. Start low, increase over weeks rather than days, and pull back immediately after any LinkedIn warning.
Does Expandi send emails?
Partly. Expandi's campaign builder has an Email action, but you must first connect your own mailbox with SMTP and IMAP details, and the prospect's address must already be public on their LinkedIn profile or imported by CSV. For real email campaigns, Expandi's own documentation points to Smartlead, a separate product with its own subscription. We also send from your own inbox, Gmail or Microsoft 365, but we find the address for you when the prospect does not publish one, and the email steps live in the same sequence as the LinkedIn steps.
Can Expandi send personalized video?
Yes, through Sendspark. Expandi's pricing page lists video personalization as a paid add-on available through the Sendspark integration, and its help centre tells you to create a Sendspark account before setting it up. The video is generated per lead, but by Sendspark, and the lead must have a first name in Expandi or no video is sent. We record and send video ourselves, with an allowance of AI-personalized videos in every plan.
Is Vaam or Expandi cheaper?
They are priced differently, so compare against the number of users you have. Expandi Business is $99 per seat per month, or $79 per seat per month on annual billing, and Expandi says the price per seat drops as you add seats. Vaam is €99 per user per month, billed monthly with no lock-in. For LinkedIn alone, Expandi is cheaper. Our price also covers email steps, address enrichment and video, which with Expandi means paying for Smartlead and Sendspark on top. Note that we price in EUR and Expandi in USD, and that Expandi quotes its Agency plan for 10+ seats on request.
What can Expandi do that Vaam cannot?
Expandi has more LinkedIn surface area. Our documented sequence steps are connection requests, messages, profile visits and InMail, while Expandi adds group messages, event invites, company follow invites and an inbound campaign for people who viewed your profile. Expandi also includes a dedicated country-based IP address in its price, where we charge for an account-specific proxy as an add-on, and it sells a white-label Agency plan with roles, permissions and client reporting. We have none of that.
Where is my data stored?
We store all customer data within the European Union. Expandi does not publish where its servers are. Its privacy policy says it uses cloud hosting providers and that, because it works with third-party providers in several countries outside the European Union, it may transfer collected data to those countries for further processing with safeguards in place. The company behind Expandi is registered in the Netherlands. If data residency matters to your legal review, ask Expandi for its list of sub-processors and its transfer safeguards in writing.
Can I use Vaam and Expandi together?
You can, but both automate the same LinkedIn account, and running two tools against one profile raises the activity LinkedIn sees. If you do run both, keep one tool per LinkedIn account. Most teams pick the one that matches their motion, either depth on LinkedIn alone or LinkedIn, email and video in the same sequence.
