Vaam

Vaam vs Lemlist

If you are weighing Vaam against Lemlist, you are probably running outbound on LinkedIn and email and looking for one tool that handles both. We are in the same seat, since we run our own outreach on Vaam, so this page also says where Lemlist is the better buy. The two overlap more than the marketing on either site suggests. Both run multi-step sequences across email and LinkedIn from one builder, and both keep customer data in the EU. They split on the step before the sequence: who builds the list. Vaam's agents find the people for you. Lemlist runs the list you built yourself.

Short answer

Pick Vaam if you want the tool to build the list as well as run it. Our agents watch LinkedIn posts and people searches, enrich every profile they find, check it against your audience, and enroll the people who match into a sequence of LinkedIn, email and per-prospect video steps. Lemlist executes the list you assembled yourself out of its 650M+ lead database. Pick Lemlist if cold email volume, deliverability tooling and that lead database matter more to you than agent sourcing or per-prospect video, or if you need SMS or calling in the same sequence. Data residency will not decide this one. Both tools state that customer data is hosted in the EU.

Top pick: Vaam Best for Agent-sourced LinkedIn, email and video outreach with a human on the replies

Pick Vaam if

  • You want the tool to find and qualify people continuously, not just execute a list you built somewhere else.
  • You want AI doing the sourcing and the sending, and a person on every reply.
  • You want video personalized per prospect, included in the plan instead of bolted on from a second tool.
  • You run LinkedIn and email as one sequence and you sync to HubSpot, Pipedrive or Upsales.
  • You price in euros and want one per-user price with no separate sender fees.

Pick Lemlist if

  • You already know who to contact and want a database to build that list from, not an agent deciding for you.
  • Cold email at high volume is the whole motion, and warm-up tooling is what decides it.
  • You want the lead database and the email and phone finder inside the same product.
  • Your sequences need SMS or an in-app dialer. Vaam has neither.
  • You need one shared email-only plan across an unlimited number of users.

Feature comparison

Where Vaam and Lemlist overlap, and where they do not.

Feature support by product
Feature Vaam Lemlist
Agent-sourced prospecting The tool finds and qualifies new prospects itself, instead of only running a list you built elsewhere. Yes Agents source from LinkedIn posts and people searches, enrich every profile, and check it against the audience you defined before enrollment. With no audience configured, they run without that check. Partial lemlist's People database is a manual search. You filter, select leads and push them to a campaign, and saved searches are filter templates you re-apply yourself. Its AI agents qualify ICP fit and add context on leads that are already in your lead list, rather than watching a live source on a schedule.
Autonomous sequence execution Sourced prospects enter a multi-step sequence and every step sends on schedule without a person triggering it. Yes LinkedIn, email and per-prospect video steps send automatically, with randomized human-like pacing and a 400 active-prospect cap on LinkedIn sequences. Yes Campaign steps across email, LinkedIn, SMS and calls send on the campaign schedule once leads are in the campaign.
Human control points Named places where a person can approve or halt the automation, such as approving prospects before outreach and replies that stop the sequence. Yes Require approval holds each prospect for your decision, and a prospect's reply pauses the sequence and becomes a task for the seller. Partial Campaign settings let you choose what a reply does, either continue, pause the lead or end the lead. Leads only enter a campaign when a person pushes them there, so lemlist documents no separate approval gate.
Email sequences Multi-step automated email campaigns. Yes Yes
LinkedIn automation Connection requests and message steps inside the same sequence. Yes Included. Yes Multichannel plan and above.
Video in outreach Sending a video as part of the sequence. Yes Built-in recording and sharing. Yes Video can be attached to a LinkedIn message or placed on a personalized landing page.
Video personalized per lead A different video, or video page, generated for each prospect. Yes Up to 400 AI-personalized videos / month. No lemlist's documentation states the attached video "is not 1:1 personalized video" and is the same for all leads at that step. The landing page around it is what varies per lead.
SMS steps No Yes Multichannel plan.
WhatsApp steps No Partial Available as a paid add-on on the Multichannel plan, not included.
Calling Partial Call steps run as tasks. There is no in-app dialer. Yes Built-in dialer and VoIP integrations on Multichannel.
Built-in lead database No No database of its own. Agents source prospects from LinkedIn posts and people searches, or you import your own list. Yes 650M+ leads with email and phone finder.
Email warm-up and deliverability tooling No Vaam publishes no warm-up product. Its safety story is human-like pacing and blocklists. Yes Deliverability hub and warm-up on every plan.
Native CRM sync Yes HubSpot, Pipedrive and Upsales, included in the one plan. Syncs contacts, activities and blocklists. Yes CRM integrations and API from the Email plan.
EU data residency Yes All customer data is stored within the European Union. Yes lemlist's privacy policy states the host servers on which it processes and stores its databases are located exclusively within the EU.

Pros and cons

Vaam

A sales outreach automation platform whose agents find people on LinkedIn, check them against your audience, and put the matches into a sequence of LinkedIn, email and per-prospect video steps.

Best for Agent-sourced LinkedIn, email and video outreach with a human on the replies

Pros

  • The agents find and qualify people on their own. They source from LinkedIn posts and people searches, enrich every profile, and check it against the audience you defined before anyone gets contacted. If you configure no audience, they run without the matching step.
  • Sourcing, qualification and outreach sit in one product, so there is no export and re-import between building a list and running it.
  • You choose how much rope to give the agent. Turn on Require approval to vet every prospect yourself, or leave it off and let the agent enroll the matches.
  • Video is personalized per prospect and comes with the plan, not as a second tool you pay for.
  • LinkedIn, email and video run inside one sequence instead of across two products.
  • Native two-way CRM sync for contacts, activities and blocklists.
  • Customer data stays inside the European Union.

Cons

  • No lead database of our own. Prospects come from your own lists or from what the agents find on LinkedIn.
  • The agents source from LinkedIn only. There is no website-visitor, job-change or CRM-signal agent, and Sales Navigator search URLs do not work.
  • No SMS and no in-app calling. Calls are sequence tasks, not a dialer.
  • No email warm-up product of our own.

Lemlist

An email-first sales engagement platform with warm-up, a large lead database, and a multichannel tier that adds LinkedIn, SMS and calling.

Best for High-volume cold email with deliverability and lead data built in

Pros

  • Deliverability tooling is mature, and warm-up is on every plan.
  • A 650M+ lead database with an email and phone finder, inside the product.
  • The most channels in one sequence. Email, LinkedIn, SMS and calls.
  • The email-only plan covers unlimited users on one price.
  • Host servers for lemlist's databases are located inside the European Union.

Cons

  • LinkedIn automation needs the Multichannel plan, which is priced per user.
  • Video is not personalized per lead. lemlist's own docs say the attached video is the same for every lead who reaches that step.
  • WhatsApp is a paid add-on rather than part of the Multichannel plan.
  • Enrichment and intent data burn credits you buy separately.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vaam work on its own?

Partly, and that is on purpose. The agents run without you. They watch LinkedIn posts and people searches on a schedule, enrich every profile they find, check it against your audience, and add the matches to a sequence that then sends its LinkedIn, email and video steps by itself. What we do not automate is the conversation. When a prospect answers, the sequence pauses and the reply becomes a task for you, with an AI summary and, where the AI judges that the reply needs a person, a suggested response you can copy. You can also switch on Require approval, which holds every prospect for your decision before any outreach starts. Vaam runs the outbound work, and you take the conversations.

What do Vaam agents do that Lemlist doesn't?

Lemlist runs a list you have already built. You search its People database, select the leads you want and push them into a campaign, and its AI agents then enrich and qualify the leads that are already in there. Our agents do the step before that. An agent watches a LinkedIn people search, a company page's posts or one person's posts, opens each new profile to load their company, role, industry and size, and judges them against the audience you defined, meaning job titles, geography, company size, industries and exclusions, before anyone enters a sequence. With no audience configured, the agent runs without that check. Prospects the check rejects are listed with the reason, and you can overrule the decision. In practice you get a steady flow of qualified people instead of a campaign that goes quiet when the list runs out.

Is Vaam cheaper than Lemlist?

That depends on the plan and the currency, so compare the tiers that actually hold the channels you need. Vaam is €99 per user per month, billed monthly with no lock-in. Lemlist's Multichannel plan, the tier that includes LinkedIn, is $87 per user per month on annual billing and $109 monthly. Lemlist's email-only plan is cheaper at $55 to $69 per month for unlimited users, but it has no LinkedIn automation. Note also that we price in EUR and Lemlist prices in USD.

Does Lemlist do LinkedIn automation?

Yes, on the Multichannel plan. The Email plan is email only. Lemlist's Multichannel tier adds LinkedIn, SMS and a built-in dialer, and is priced per user. WhatsApp is a paid add-on on top of that plan.

What can Vaam do that Lemlist cannot?

Generate a video that is personalized for each individual prospect, with an allowance of those videos included in every plan. Lemlist's own documentation states that a video attached to a step is not 1:1 personalized and is the same for every lead who reaches it. What changes per lead is the landing page around the video.

What can Lemlist do that Vaam cannot?

Email warm-up and deliverability tooling, a 650M+ lead database with an email and phone finder, SMS steps and a built-in call dialer. We have none of those. Vaam has no lead database of its own, since its agents work from LinkedIn or from a list you import, and it treats calls as sequence tasks rather than in-app calls.

Is my data stored in the EU with either tool?

Yes, both state that it is. Vaam stores all customer data within the European Union. Lemlist's privacy policy states that the host servers on which it processes and stores its databases are located exclusively within the European Union. So data residency will not pick the winner here. If your legal review cares about sub-processors, read each vendor's current policy.

Do both tools offer a free trial?

Yes. Vaam gives you 14 days with no credit card. Lemlist gives you 14 days of full access to the Multichannel plan, also without a credit card.

Can I use Vaam and Lemlist together?

You can, but the two overlap heavily on email and LinkedIn sequencing, so running both usually means paying twice for the same step types. Most teams pick the one that matches their motion, either per-lead video or email volume plus lead data.
